The Great Wood on Blicking Estate was my first experience of a woodland in the UK. I was fascinated by the amount of light shining through the canopy and illuminating the trees, the forest floor, and the path we were walking along.
As I come from an area of New Zealand with dense, layered forest and heavy canopy cover, this felt like a new, dreamy way to experience the woods. In this artwork, I sought to capture the angelic glow that reverberated through the woods in the early summer sun.
